[1] I John Campbell Eldest Son to Duncan Campbell in Auch:
:inshicallan procreat betwixt him and the deceast Margaret
Stewart his first Spouse For as much as my said father
did at the term of Martinmass last by past Advance, pay and
Deliver to me the sum of one Thousand merks Scots mony
Which with the like Sum of One Thousand Merks mony for
formerly advanced by him to me I hereby Accept of In full
Satisfaction of all bairns part of Gear, portion naturall, former
provision, Executry, legacy or any thing else that I can ask Claim
or crave by and through my said father or Mothers death (Ex:
:cepting his Good will allenerly) And not only Discharge
him his heirs and executors thereof Accordingly But also in
the terms of And Conform to An Agreement betwixt my said father
and me at receiving the said last sum of One Thousand merks
I by these presents Bind and oblige me my heirs, Executors
and Successors whatsomever To Content and pay to my said father
Yearly during all the dayes of his lifetime The Sum of Fifty
merks Scots Or Such an [annual?]rent As shall by law be Agreeable
to the Sum of One Thousand merks mony foresaid Beginning
the first years payment thereof at the term of Martinmass
next to come And so forth at Martinmass Yearly thereafter during
all the dayes of his lifetime With Ten merks Scots of liquidate
penalty for ilk terms failzie And [annual?]rent thereafter during the
not payment, And it is hereby Declared That Notwith:
:standing of these presents It shall be lawful to and in my [said]
Fathers power to Uplift from me at any Martinmas term
hereafter what part of the said Thousand merks last received
by me from him he shall have Absolute Necessity for Not
Exceeding Five Hundred merks I being on the other hand only
Obliged to pay him Yearly thereafter an [annual?]rent equivalent to
the remainder of the said thousand merks left in my hands
Consenting for the more Security to the Registration hereof
in the Books of Council and Session or others competent For
Conservation And if need be is To have the Strength of ane
Decreet That Letters of horning on Six dayes charge And [–?–]
in the form as Effeirs May be direct hereupon And therto Consti[tute]

In witnes whereof I have Subscribed these presents which are
Writen upon Stamp’t paper by Thomas Campbell writer in
Killine And subscribed by me at Stronenilachan the Seventeenth
